  • Hi everyone.

I have recently joined the Q Community as a member of the Prehabilitation Special Interest Group (SIG), hosted by Macmillan Cancer Support and the Centre for Perioperative Care (CPOC), a partnership between health charities, professional organisations, patient organisations and several leading Royal Colleges

The SIG officially launches on 4th July but I am using the time to explore the community and have been amazed by the depth and breadth of what already exists.

I am a patient representative for CPOC and we are active in many activities aligned with elective pathways, especially the NHSE elective recovery plan, guideline development and prehabilitation to ensure that patients are fitter should they require surgery. This is the link to our website (https://cpoc.org.uk/about-cpoc ) and I look forward to learning more about your group over the coming weeks.

    • Welcome Lawrence! Sounds like super interesting work. Looking forward to hearing more. I’m a Community Convener for Q, working with Matthew and Joriam to support SIG activity, do reach out if you have any questions 🙂

      • Hello Maria. Thanks for the welcome. I met Joriam this week online as we looked at the launch and development of our new SIG. I have been very impressed with the aims and focus of Q Communities. Looking forward to reaching out as we expand

    • I have just written a blog article on the latest report on elective care recovery plan which I am going to post nearer to the SIG launch, so will hopefully copy a link to other groups. It will probably be on the CPOC website which has a number of patient focused blogs available.
