I am a pain management consultant based up in sunny Stockport. I am also the clinical lead for our bijou pain service.  We’ve undertaken a revamp of our triage and 1st POC system over the last year.

Stockport NHS is a wonderful place to work but our IT is archaic at best. I’ve joined this group as I would like advice on the best way to fully utilise digital services for phase 2 of our development.

Phase 2 or ‘Your Patient Journey’ is an EBCD driven project designed to give people with persistent pain rapid access to pain management support that is then shared across hospital and community. Full details for the project are here:

One of the most important parts of the project will be a pain management plan/journey that is available to the patient and health care workers across primary/secondary and mental health services.  I would hugely value this groups opinion and advice regarding:

– I think that EMIS would be the best software for the Journey digital plan as it is used by all primary care. Does anyone have experience with digital care plans using EMIS?

– Activity is an important part of pain management. Does anyone have experience of using activity tracking within the healthcare setting?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
