Please forgive this second post, but I didn’t add an image to the first post and now realise I should have. This is a screenshot of the outpatient waiting time forecast tool we are building to help Trusts understand the impact of pent up demand and new ways of working will have on waiting times. The tool is free for people to use and can be found here https://app.powerbi.com/view?r=eyJrIjoiYTBhMjU3OTYtN2M4YS00MGQzLTk3M2ItMGEwMjc1NmE4MWU1IiwidCI6IjViYjc4ZjhhLTI5YmUtNDMxMy1iNzY0LTViNjMzOWQ3MmRiMiJ9 and all feedback would be appreciated.
We have updated the tool with new data and made changes, some of which came from this group, and it can be found here https://app.powerbi.com/view?r=eyJrIjoiYTBhMjU3OTYtN2M4YS00MGQzLTk3M2ItMGEwMjc1NmE4MWU1IiwidCI6IjViYjc4ZjhhLTI5YmUtNDMxMy1iNzY0LTViNjMzOWQ3MmRiMiJ9 and is free for people to use.
Hi,
Interesting tool and shockingly high numbers. I think that the assumption that services will return to 100% of pre-covid activity within 12 months is unrealistic however. What is that assumption based on or is it just illustrative?
Thanks
Good point! I’m not sure we will get back to 100% – unless of course we innovate new ways of working or find other means to increase capacity. The idea of the tool is that it is a scenario based planning tool, and all options are possible. We thought that the second wave/gradual recovery to 100% capacity was a sensible central scenario – but sadly you may be right, and a better central scenario may have less capacity recovery.
