This webinar series explores the concept, theoretical foundation and examples of QMS in health care and how they may connect with existing systems including quality assurance, governance, improvement, digital systems and clinical audits.
About the webinars
Throughout 2022–23, we hosted a series of webinars that explored the potential of QMS within health and social care.
The recordings below offer a practical overview. We heard from speakers with a range of experience and insight to help you better understand how to develop and implement a successful QMS in your setting.
Series 1 covers where to start, aligning people to the strategy, leadership and quality control.
Series 2 looks at how QMS are being used in health and care, the role human learning systems can play, improvement coaching and improvement across boundaries.
Who is it for?
This series is for anyone working on improvement in health and care who wants to better understand quality management systems and their potential.

This webinar explored the relational, cultural and contextual aspects of improvement and how leaders can shape and influence quality at the centre of an organisation.
Series 2
Quality Management Systems – building the conditions for effective change
This session focused on how QMS are being used in health care to build quality across whole organisations, with examples from Q members and examples outside of healthcare with mature quality management systems.
Quality Management Systems – quality planning using human learning systems and person-centred design
In this session we expanded our understanding of ‘quality planning’ to consider the role human learning systems can play in developing services which are designed around people.
Quality Management Systems – how coaching can support continuous improvement
This session took a deeper look into how to support the quality control element of QMS through the development of improvement coaching.
