Q to launch in Ireland

The Health Service Executive (HSE) and Q are working in partnership to launch the Q community in Ireland. Applications for improvers in Ireland will open in May 2020.

As Q continues to develop and grow, this is an exciting milestone that extends Q’s international reach and that will create opportunities for the UK to learn from the rich experience of QI in Ireland.

“I’m delighted that we’re working with the Health Service Executive to launch Q in Ireland. Since Q began we have been working with Q members and partners to create a cross-sector, cross-profession, pan-country infrastructure for learning and collaboration. Launching in Ireland further demonstrates our commitment to growing the community and supporting members to connect across boundaries. The experience and expertise of improvers in Ireland will be a fantastic addition to the community.”

Penny Pereira, Q Initiative Director

“We are really impressed by the co-design and innovative approach to the development of Q. We are enthusiastic about the potential to deepen relationships and collaborations on QI initiatives and are keen to bring our national and local experience of supporting improvement to the Q Community.”

Dr Philip Crowley, National Director of the Health Service Executive (HSE) National Quality Improvement Team

It also builds on and will support the strong relationships and collaboration between improvers in Northern Ireland and Ireland.

Q’s expansion into Ireland is part of Q’s ambitious 10-year plan developed with the Health Foundation and Q’s country partners announced in November 2019.
