Meet the team

What is the challenge your project is going to address and how does it connect to the theme?

We are trying to accelerate knowledge and spread of QI methodologies across the trust and build a continuous improvement culture and ethos that supports and develops ideas from the front line that will improve the lives of our patients and staff.  Having QI Ambassadors with dedicated time to drive forward QI is part of the mechanism to achieve this.

What does your project aim to achieve?

The project aims to grow QI capacity and capability at the front line by working directly with teams and cascading knowledge, tools including PDSA methodologies.

How will the project be delivered?

The project will be delivered by a small project team led by a project manager.   Key phases include raising awareness of the initiative, engagement with key stakeholder,  identification of potential QI Ambassadors, QSIR practitioner training for those selected, a support forum for QI Ambassadors, alignment to divisions.  Measures of success will include, number of QI initiatives registered, number of staff coming forward for formal QI training, Number of initiatives that are sustained over 12months

How is your project going to share learning?

We hold Yokoten (every 6 weeks) to share across the ICS and the success (or otherwise) of this initiative will be shared in that forum.   We also plan to publish our findings and share on this and other forums by way of case studies

How you can contribute

  • Learning from previous/similar initiatives
  • Experiences of software to support QI data capture and reporting

  1. Hi Cath and Abby

There was a previously-funded Q Exchange project that may provide useful learning for you

This project also looked at ways to engage support staff with QI

Best of luck with your idea!
