Sharing insight and ideas widely is crucial for effective improvement. Q covers the costs for members to publish in open access journals. We outline the criteria for eligible articles and how to apply for the funding.
Let us cover your publication costs
We support Q members to publish improvement work in high quality open access journals by covering publication costs.
Publishing in a peer-reviewed journal is a recognised way to share your work with the improvement community and beyond. It’s also a great way to build your profile and advance your career.
How to access the funding
Publishing in BMJ Open Quality
Q members can publish in BMJ Open Quality for free. If you’re a member, find out how to publish without charges by emailing the Q team: q@health.org.uk.
Publishing anywhere else
To be eligible for funding to publish your work in any other peer-reviewed journal, your paper must:
- stem from work Q has funded, such as Q Lab or Supporting Q Connections projects, or
- be connected to other work Q is leading, such as the topic or focus of a Q Visit or webinars, or
- be relevant to our collaborative improvement priorities.
To apply, email us with an outline of your article and the name of the journal you intend to submit it to q@health.org.uk
We will get back to you with a decision within X weeks.
