Why NICA?

NICA is a world-leading organisation. They co-develop and bring to market products and services that aim to create a world in which we all live better, throughout our lives.

NICA harnesses the power of artificial intelligence and big data using a deliberative approach and technical ingenuity. Essential to their process is gathering a multi-disciplinary, cross-sector group of professionals (including scientists and innovators working with the commercial sector) with service user representatives in an environment where they can all participate in exchanging ideas and knowledge.

NICA has experience with co-production, deliberative process and technical ingenuity that they’re able to share with us.

What will I experience?

Through this interactive and hands-on Visit, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Find out how NICA use big data and insights from service users to create innovative products.
  • Hear inspiring case studies from world-leading innovators showcasing how novel technological solutions can increase people’s quality of life.
  • Learn how their technology allows people to participate more fully in their communities and activities they enjoy.
  • Experience demonstrations of co-designed products and environments in NICA’s cutting-edge building.
  • Immerse yourself in a design culture that fosters strong collaboration and co-design.

There are 36 places available on this Visit which will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. To avoid missing out, register your place as soon as possible.

What do we mean by ‘prototype’ event?

Over the past year, we have been working with Storythings to review Q Visits, gathering thoughts and insight from Q community members to consider how we can reimagine this offer. As part of this process, we are testing and iterating different approaches in the form of prototype Visits.

One of the new approaches we’re testing is inviting you into a group space on the Q website ahead of the event. In this space we’ll provide inspiring learning materials and prompts for reflection to help you prepare for the Visit and make the most of it. The group space is also a perfect place to pose questions and share challenges with other participants, who are also working on digital transformation. After the event you’ll be given more resources in the group space to help you continue to reflect, learn and connect with others beyond the Visit.

Through these Visits we will be bringing new format suggestions to life and asking you to tell us about your experience through a survey at the end. We’ll then use this feedback to help create a new and refreshed form of Q Visits. We hope to see you there and look forward to hearing your feedback!
