Q members will gain insight into the organisation’s Accelerating Delivery Performance approach (ADP). ADP is based on Lean-Six Sigma, visual Project Management, and underpinned by organisational development principles. Members will see tangible examples of how this approach has delivered transformative improvement and engaged staff throughout this global organisation and beyond.

Following feedback last year, this time the learning experience will be even more immersive and flexible, allowing you to visit more areas across GSK and understand their innovative Tipping Point approach, a mechanism to “create contagious commitment to change”.

It’s really interesting to hear non-healthcare stories, both the similarities to what we are doing and the differences… The GSK team were open about the successes and challenges and I can see how we can use what they have done in our setting


GSK is global healthcare company that researches, develops and manufactures medicines, vaccines and other health products. The ADP approach was developed by the company over 10 years ago as a way to bring together lean, project management and organisational development, with the aim of accelerating the delivery of the GSK strategy and delivering excellence and building skills and capabilities in continuous improvement.

What you’ll learn

On the day-long visit, we’ll have the opportunity to deep dive into GSK’s approach to change. We’ll see first-hand the tools and techniques used for embedding an ethos of continuous improvement. You’ll speak to those leading improvements as well as those responsible for the design of the approach, and understand what makes for effective change management. We’ll have a unique opportunity to ‘Go and See’ the approach in two operational areas, previously rated by Q members as highly valuable. There will also be a fantastic opportunity to hear from an accredited trainer in the Tipping Point approach, a technique used by GSK to create contagious commitment to change. The trainer will take Q members through an immersive experience to help them understand the theory and the application of this.

Aims and objectives

By the end of the session you will:

  • Experience the environment and culture of continuous improvement in a global organisation
  • Explore how the GSK approach can be used and applied in your own organisation
  • Understand and experience GSK’s approach to change using the Tipping Point approach
  • Take away practical tools, techniques and approaches to meetings, project management and visual performance, which can be immediately applied in your organisation
  • Share and learn from other Q members attending the session.

This Q visit would suit anyone interested in accelerating the pace of change in their organisation. It will be particularly of interest to those leading change and change practitioners.

Event capacity

Due to onsite space restrictions, there are just 20 spaces, available on a first-come, first-served basis.


The nearest Rail station is Brentford and the nearest tube is Boston Manor – we’ll send out more detailed travel details once you’ve confirmed your spot.

While the cost of the visit itself is covered, as development opportunity, expenses will not be covered.

We encourage you to ask your organisation for professional/study leave to attend, if this is available to you, as CPD points are available.
