Join us & our inspiring panelists for a two-part shared learning forum on embedding sustainability into QI education, training and practice.

Embedding environmental and social sustainability into QI education, training and practice can help healthcare professionals to contribute to the NHS commitments to a Net Zero health system. The ‘SusQI’ framework developed by the Centre for Sustainable Healthcare offers a practical tool for reducing the negative environmental impact of healthcare, whilst building social value at every opportunity.

Part One: Embedding sustainability into healthcare education; lessons learned from practice
Date: 20th May 2022
Time: 12:00-13:30 GMT

The SusQI Education Project at the Centre for Sustainable Healthcare supported by the Health Foundation and Health Education England has been working for over three years to integrate sustainability into QI education for healthcare professionals. The Project has recruited Beacon Sites including nursing and medical universities, foundation school deaneries and HEE postgraduate schools, and has enabled their faculty to become leaders in SusQI education. SusQI is now taught to healthcare professionals across all four nations of the UK and is equipping the workforce to drive the transition towards a sustainable NHS.

This event will highlight the lessons learned from the SusQI Education Project, touching on newly published research findings. We will explore with our panel members the strategies taken to embed SusQI into QI education, the impact it has on learners, and how we are navigating the further spread of SusQI through the Beacon Site Programme and SusQI Academy.
