In this session we explored the purpose of clinical audit and then compared with the key principles of a quality improvement approach.
With this foundation we then discussed how these approaches are complementary as part of a holistic approach to improving quality of health and care.
Some NHS organisations are already on a journey to a more integrated approach to clinical audit and quality improvement, and we hear about the journey underway at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
