Al Mulley- QI Connect WebEx

Another great speaker in Healthcare Improvement Scotland's QI Connect WebEx series.

29 Mar 2018

We are joined for our March QI Connect session by Professor Al Mulley, Managing Director of Global Health Care Delivery Science at The Dartmouth Institute of Health Policy and Clinical Practice. His clinical, training and research interests have spanned from intensive medical care to integration of primary care and population – always with a focus on the quality of decision making from the frontlines of care to system leadership.

As well as Managing Director at the Dartmouth Institute, Al Mulley is also Professor of Medicine at the Dartmouth Geisel School of Medicine and he served as Chief of General Medicine at the Harvard and Massachusetts General Hospital for three decades. He was named the King’s Fund’s first International Fellow in 2010 and was appointed Visiting Professor at UCL in 2015.

Professor Mulley will be speaking about how we embed shared decision-making in the day-to-day conversations we have with the people we care for, and how we bring principles of realistic medicine to life.

Our QI Connect WebEx series was established in 2014 at the request of clinicians working with us, who asked for an opportunity to learn from international leaders in the field of improvement and innovation. Using WebEx allows speakers to facilitate from their own desk, and participants to link in and learn from wherever they are.

We have had some truly amazing speakers to date, including; Don Berwick, Marshall Ganz, Professor Bob Wachter, Maureen Bisognano, Gary Kaplan… the list goes on!

Due to the calibre of our speakers, interest in the series has grown on a global scale, with over 470 organisations across 48 countries now linking in. Amazingly, from a small test of change at one university in Glasgow, we now have 43 universities linking in (from Dundee to Harvard!) bringing students together in classrooms to listen, learn and share.
