Factory Game

Read comments 7

At UHBW we’ve been racking our brains about how to make the infamous Pen Game virtual, after lots of brain storming and research we found lots of exciting options.  With some budgetary and time restraints however we also had to bring something together quite quickly, from this the factory game was developed.

The idea is that teams are invited to imagine working in a furniture factory, they are assigned roles (with rather poorly written job descriptions) and given a shared Excel spreadsheet to use using office 365, they then play a round of 4-5 mins each where they try and work through their tasks.  Between each round they are introduced to various elements of QI and asked to apply them to the furniture game to make improvements.

We’re looking for anyone else within the Q community who wouldn’t mind taking a loot at this or even trying it out so we can see where we could possibly develop it further.

  1. Hi Callum. This is really good (and looks quite challenging virtually!). I’d love to be a guinea-pig to try it out for you, and could probably ask some former colleagues from Portsmouth Trust to join me. I’ve read the instructions but I think experiencing it would be much better.
    Kind regards
    Emma

  2. Hi Callum
We are an Improvement Team in Leeds (LYPFT ) mental Health. Currently establishing ourselves within the Trust and as such are doing a bit of training and educating our services. the game sounds like an engaging and imaginative way of getting learning across. More than happy for us to guinea pig / test your game. it would help us as well as yourselves.
