I am the Head of Clinical Governance in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and hold strategic responsibility for clinical quality improvement and governance across acute care, primary care and mental health services. I have worked in NHS strategic management roles since 1990 focusing on infection control and then risk management before being appointed to my first lead role for Clinical Governance in 1999. I have contributed corporately and nationally on a range of topics linked to clinical quality improvement and assurance but my favorite part of the role is working directly with clinical teams and service users. Throughout my career I have pursued complimentary academic study and hold an advanced diploma in infection control, a Masters' degree in public health medicine and a postgraduate diploma in systems practice, with my most recent qualification a Masters in Leadership for Quality from Ashridge Business School. I am also an IHI trained improvement advisor and a Health Foundation Fellow (GenerationQ). Happy to help.
