I work in an exciting and innovative role at Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust, a "going further faster organisation" compassionate about mental health, learning disabilities, community, communicable disease, IPC and health in a large diverse population. An interesting time for us all to reduce avoidable infections and continue on our Quality Improvement journey.
30 years’ experience in secondary and primary settings, included working within the NHS, independent care providers and education institutes. I am committed to quality care, improving standards, driving forward innovative practice and development of staff through effective leadership.
My passion is to drive down avoidable infections and harm, improve health and antimicrobial stewardship, and reduce health inequalities. I have worked extensively on improving the physical health of those people with mental illness, substance misuse, hard to reach groups and the health inequalities associated with the same.
My PGcert and MSc are inclusive of Public Health/ Health Improvement and Wellbeing topics which include IPC, Physical Health in Mental Health and Health Protection.
I am a member of the Infection Prevention Society, and my vision is to work collaboratively with colleagues, both regionally and nationally to prevent avoidable harm.
