About this group

In the NHS, Quality Improvement methodology is the most common vehicle for embedding systematic continuous improvement and most frequently shows up as a team of experts supporting clinically-focused, smaller-scale change projects.

QI methodology offers the opportunity to transform how we work in organisations – it is, and can be more intentionally, a large-scale OD intervention.  Its philosophy provides an approach to ‘how we do things round here’ that, when embedded throughout the whole organisation, changes the way people relate to each other, how they do their work and improve their work.  Its potential is rarely realised because it requires significantly different ways of thinking, sustained commitment and resources.

This special interest group (SIG) brings together people who see the potential for the QI philosophy and methodologies to bring about organisational transformation and would like to learn about how to bring this about together.

The SIG was initiated by Liz Twelves and is currently looking for new conveners. Get in touch with Q Community Convener Maria Dorthea Skov if you’re interested or have ideas for activities or events.
