Educated at Edinburgh University. I trained at Sheffield, Edinburgh, Newcastle and Great Ormond Street Hospital London.

We deliver care for children with complex kidney disease including dialysis and transplants for the whole of the North East.

I am passionate in using Quality Improvement to improve Patient Safety at the Great North Children’s Hospital. I welcome any comments good or bad in how we deliver care.

Working with the other 13 UK kidney units I have wide and varied research interests: from common conditions such as childhood high blood pressure and urine infections, to rare kidney conditions and to medication errors in children.
