Biography

I work within Health Innovation Kent Surrey Sussex - an exciting organisation that supports members in Kent, Surrey and Sussex to spread health and care improvements and innovation. I am the Associate Director for Patient Safety and currently lead on workstreams commissioned by NHS E/I. These include Maternity & Neonatal Safety Improvement Programme (SIP), Implementation of PSIRF, and Reducing Opioids in non-cancer pain. I am a founding member of `Q` and have participated in `Q`iLab looking at how to enhance peer support. I also have been involved in Q applications / Q Exchange bids and took the opportunity to learn & present Pecha Kucha at a national conference!

Previously, as Deputy Chief Nurse I led on reducing harms within a Patient Safety portfolio in a secondary care environment. I supported the implementation of safety bundles that have reduced pressure ulcers and the number of falls. I led on Patient Safety CQUINs, including Dementia and collaborative working with community partners to reduce admitted pressure ulcers and VTE. I completed the Trust Quality Account for 3 years up to 2014 / 15 and was awarded the local IWL Innovation award for Productive Ward and Implementation of Schwartz rounds. When Head of Midwifery, I wrote the first business case for a new Co-located Midwifery Led Unit.

I am dual trained RGN / RM and academically have been awarded Advanced Diploma in Midwifery / BSC(H) in Midwifery Studies and MA (Distinction)in Professional Practice (Management & Leadership Route). I am also an alumnus of Nye Bevan Leadership Academy.

I love reading, traveling & walking.
