Biography

 
Tim Cooper is Director of the West Midlands Quality Review Service. Part of the NHS available nationally, WMQRS support organisations in improving quality providing a range of bespoke approaches driven by local need.
 
WMQRS is UKAS accredited. The only healthcare organisation accredited as an inspection body with UKAS (No. 8831).
 
Tim is a member of the Health and Social Care Accreditation Forum.
Previously Tim was Head of Hospital Inspection for the Care Quality Commission leading the CQC hospital Inspection (acute) programme for acute, community and independent health within the West Midlands.
 
Tim was also Programme Director for NHS Improving Quality’s delivery team in acute care; leading a team of National Improvement Experts supporting the NHS in improving delivery and service provision.
 
Tim was Director with the National Cancer Action Team and national lead for radiotherapy; leading the national radiotherapy programme.
 
Tim also provided the expert leadership to NHS Specialised Commissioning in the delivery of the Prime Ministers Pledge on access to Advanced Radiotherapy.
 
Tim trained as a Therapeutic Radiographer and was head of radiotherapy services in Shropshire.
 
Tim is a Fellow of the College of Radiographers (FCR) and an Honorary Member of the Royal College of Radiologists (MRCR).
 
Tim graduated from the University of York with a master’s degree in Leading Innovation and Change.
 
Tim has published over 14 peer reviewed papers on improving clinical care delivery and change. Tim has also published over 8 National Guidance Documents and Reports for both commissioners and providers.
 
Tim has led the NHS Commissioning Service Specification for radiotherapy and sat on two Commissioning Clinical Reference Groups for NHS England. Tim was also a member of the NHS Supply Chain Strategic Imaging and Radiotherapy task force
 
Tim is a Trustee of a local cancer charity that has invested the equivalent of over £18m in local cancer care.
