My background is in science: an undergraduate degree in physics and math and a PhD in computational neuroscience. I have many years experience in cognitive neuroscience research, specifically in perceptual learning.
In my current role I am part of a group of analysts in the Activity & Access team. I provide diverse analysis and insight services to a wide variety of stakeholders at the hospital, in a growing number of areas, though my specialisation and interests are largely in the emergency pathway. I have created tools to track flow of patients through the hospital (front door to back door), as well as to track activity and progress on diverse measures of change across a large, across-hospital improvement programme. I have also provided bespoke demand & capacity and impact analyses for patient pathways (e.g. through assessment units), as well as analysis projects aimed at identifying improvement opportunities (e.g. in the TTO process) and developing measures and KPIs.
