Biography

Susan joined SDF in 2017 and has worked in the third sector for the past 13 years in a variety of roles and organisations which support adults who experience polysubstance use, homelessness, mental health issues and a range of other complex needs.

In 2015, Susan was seconded to Substance Misuse National Support Team within the Scottish Government engaging in work that relates to drug and alcohol national policy. Prior to this role, she worked as Service Manager of the Glasgow South East Community Rehabilitation service which provided structured therapeutic group work programmes to support adults recovering from problematic substance use issues. Susan was also part of the management team who developed the residential Glasgow Alcohol Rehabilitation Service.

Experienced in PRINCE2® Practitioner Project Management in Social Services with a demonstrated history of working in the public policy industry and third sector. Skilled in Quality Improvement, Coaching, Volunteer Management, Strategic Partnerships, Team Building, and Service Development. Strong operations professional with a Post Graduate Diploma focused in Alcohol and Drugs studies.
