Biography

My clinical background is as a Chartered Physiotherapist spending many years practising in the UK and overseas. Following ten years working and managing in Wales I won a PhD scholarship to explore practitioners' perceptions of innovating. This involved working with Welsh Government, clinicians, social care and the voluntary sector: both challenging and rewarding. I joined Swansea University in 2013 and was programme director of the MSc Health Care Management. While lecturing (under and post grads) I continued researching with a focus on topics such as integrated care and leadership. I also retained strong links with Physiotherapy through the Welsh Board and work with the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.

I am currently on a one year post doctoral research fellowship post in Australia  with the Centre for Healthcare Resilience and Implementation Science. The post centres on the implementation of genomic testing across Australia looking at both clinical processes and service provision.
