My 36 year career in the NHS began in 1984 as a student nurse at Westminster hospital. After 6 years of nursing on medical and surgical wards I trained as a Health Visitor. The next 15 years was spent in a multidisciplinary team as Special Needs Health Visitor in Hertfordshire, supporting families of preschool children with a disability. Having completed the NHS Effective Leadership programme my career changed direction and I worked as Head of Patient Experience followed by the role of Engagement manager in Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust. During this time I completed the QSAIR programme. Since October 2019 I have  worked as a Quality Improvement Coach for East and North Herts NHS Trust.
