Biography

Rebecca joined the South West Academic Health Science Network in October 2019 as Programme Director of the Clinical Portfolio of work and the Patient Safety Collaborative Lead for the South West.

Rebecca previously worked at Somerset Partnership as the Operational Manager for Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy and Podiatry Services.  A Physiotherapist by background, Rebecca achieved her clinical Masters with distinction from the University of Western Australia in 2013.

Rebecca comes from a background encompassing military and health service roles in both clinical and leadership capacities.  Her success has been built on her transformational leadership style and Rebecca prides herself on successful frontline change management through individual and team leadership enhancement.  This is underpinned by Rebecca’s belief that patients should be active participants in the decision making process around their care, as proactive patient engagement and empowerment delivers the best individualised outcomes.

Rebecca completed the Patient Safety Executive Development Course through the Institute for Healthcare Improvement in 2020 and underpins change management through Model for Improvement methodology, now teaching and coaching Quality Improvement.

Rebecca lives with her husband and two young boys in Somerset and prioritises all her time into family life, health and fitness outside of work.
