Tagging the convenor @rammya-mathew here, she might have a recommendation 🙂 (or maybe even herself if she’s available? can’t imagine a better speaker!)

Thank you for your intro to the group, Tamsin. It’s great to have you here and for you to be a point of contact on low carbon asthma care and QI in this group, along with @rammya-mathew

Hi @rammya-mathew I am due for surgery in October/November so can no longer be sure if I will be able to deliver the proposed World Antibiotic Awareness Week aligned shared learning discussed above. I am proposing defer to 2022 – shame to miss WAAW but …

Hello All
It looks like we will run one of the learning events @rammya-mathew mentioned in November to align with World Antibiotic Awareness Week and share 3 improvement experiences. @joannabircher has activity to share so thats 1 slot (Thanks Joanna) and I have identified an existing UTI diagnostic data nudging project that fills a second slot.…Read more-
@neilchadborn I recall you were doing improvement work in care homes – any antimicrobial stewardship/infection related share that might fit this event?

Have you looked at the AMR groups. I have linked the SPS to our NEL area page but you can see at the bottom for links to other geographical areas https://www.sps.nhs.uk/networks/nel-amrsg/

Hi @vicki-kong Yes I loop in with most AMR networks and co-designed that SPS page – which I think is a bit out of date as its clunky to use. But great you know it exists! There are new NHSEI Regional Leads for AMS landing in all 7 Regions and that will really help shared learning too. I will be contacting them re this also.

There is some really interesting data https://www.sapg.scot/ on primary care antimicrobial prescribing during the pandemic and an interesting paper from January about antibiotic prescribing in end of life. (sorry not helpful with resource- but interested to learn more!)
-
Hi @sarah-elizabeth-luty Yes there is. England and NI also published reports on antibiotic use in pandemic times and England published a pandemic dashboard open data https://www.prescqipp.info/our-resources/webkits/antimicrobial-stewardship/ams-visual-analytics-to-support-nhs-antimicrobial-stewardship-activity-during-covid-19-pandemic/

Thanks Elizabeth. That is perfectly fine, it’s good to be thinking about antimicrobial stewardship all year round – so might work well to have a follow-on event in the New Year! Do get in touch when you are recovered. Wishing you all the best.
