I am currently working as the Smoking Cessation Midwife for Antrim and Ballymena as part of the Smoking Cessation Team. I first qualified as an Adult Nurse from Queens University Belfast in 1998. Following this I attended York University for my Degree in Midwifery .  I qualified in Midwifery 20 years ago  in Yorkshire. I worked for 1 year in York Maternity Unit before taking up a post for the next 9 years in the Royal Jubilee maternity Hospital in Belfast. During my 9 years i was fortunate to be able to work in all of the areas in practice with amazing midwives. I was also facilitated and supported to undertake my Masters in Midwifery Practice. I then continued my career in 2009 by becoming a Community Midwife in the Northern Health and Social Care Trust. In my 9 years in this post i experienced Band 7 roles within Practice Developement and undertook Prince2 Project Development and my IQI levels 1 & 2. In july of this year I commenced my current roles.
