Biography

Olivia Wall is currently working as an Occupational Therapy Practice Tutor with the undergraduate Occupational Science & Occupational Therapy students in UCC, Cork. Olivia is also focusing on service development in the Primary & Community Care O.T. service in Cork City.

She previously worked in the role of Quality Improvement Manager with a Unscheduled Care project (Project Flow) in Cork University Hospital. Olivia was part of a network called the CUH Improvers, with the aim of building a QI culture through mentoring, educating and communicating about quality improvement in the hospital.

Olivia's research interests and projects are varied. Some examples include: (a) driving cessation after a dementia diagnosis, (b) undergraduate students hand hygiene behaviour, (c) weekend discharges, (d) teaching the topic of patient flow in an Irish acute hospital group and (e) interprofessional education.

Olivia is a graduate of the Occupational Therapy programme in Trinity College Dublin. Additionally, she has completed three Masters in UCC: (a) Masters in Advanced Healthcare Practice, (b) Masters in Public Health and (c) Masters in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education. She also successfully completed the Lean Sigma Green Belt course and focused on process improvement in an acute hospital, focusing on streamlining processes. She graduated with a Diploma in Leadership and Quality in Healthcare (RCPI) and has extensive experience of using quality improvement methodologies to support the work of many multidisciplinary teams in both acute and primary care settings.
