Biography

I retired from Primary Care in 2006, I was a counsellor working in 2 Health Centres. Whilst working there I determined that when I retired I would concentrate on raising the profile of older people's mental health. I recognised that without good mental health our physical health would suffer and we would need the mental health services of the NHS much more.

I will be retiring in October 2021 as Chair of Relate Bradford as I have now moved to Market Weighton in East Yorks where I am hoping to become involved once again in the promotion of good mental health for older people.

I have also over the last 5 years been involved with the AHSN as part of an oversight group for a research project on Frailty which has given me insight into the lives of older people struggling with multiple long term conditions. I am now also PPIE rep. for the Prosper project, and the Northern Pathology Imaging Co-operative.
