I have been a midwife for a considerable number of years and have worked in a variety of roles in a variety of organisations.

My current role is as the Safety Lead for Sussex Local Maternity System. This enables me to have oversight of the safety agenda within 3 very different Trust Providers and share good practice.

I am passionate about maternity services and ensuring that the care delivered combines the service users wishes to the highest possible safety within numerous settings.

Another passion of mine is staff competency and training and how professional development is maintained during the current financial climate that sees professional development budgets reduced.

Quality improvement is key to sustainability and my vision is for everyone who works alongside me in health care to realise that they have a voice that can be heard. Let's learn from previous and current experiences as well as sharing successes and challenges. Together we can make a real difference.
