I am a Quality Improvement Matron seconded to the East Midlands Academic Health Science Network- Patient Safety Collaborative primarily focused on promoting safety in care homes, which is my particular interest. We have been working with a number of care homes across the East Midlands to introduce an internationally renowned audit tool (LPZ). This has been used for a number of years across Europe to understand  care problems in more detail and helps staff improve, leading to enhanced quality of care for residents. I am also particularly interested in the development and spread of training resources to help care home staff to address some of the gaps and challenges that many face in the delivery of care.
