    Hi Everyone
I was wondering if I could tap into your knowledge and expertise.
I am running an event soon and would like a short interactive ice-breaker start to the session.
About 130 people are registered so far and virtual forum will be Microsoft Teams.
Does anyone have any ideas they could share?
Any thoughts would be very much appreciated!
    Julia

    • Hi Julia, You could use a Jamboard or Miro to facilitate the ice-breaker. I am always a fan of the interesting fact about yourself and/or best place you’ve been on holiday. We recently used Jamboard to do a team check in which was great e.g. how you feeling today and three things you are looking forward to this week. Emma

    • I also really like Jamboard and Miro. Mentimeter is another option for something really quick and simple that displays results nicely for you. You can do polls, but also questions with open answers, and you can screenshare the answers as e.g. a wordcloud or list as they come in.

    • hi Julia. Not sure if you have already run the session. given the large number of 130 people with no breakout rooms (unless you have MS teams breakout rooms – a few do) – I would go with the Mentimeter questions (or Slido). Creating a nice workcloud or a simple poll. — I tend to start with something lighthearted or topical, then a QI type question related to the session.

      • Many thanks Robin.
        Your comments are really helpful.
The session is in a couple of weeks, so definitely time to sort this out.
        Thanks again.
        Julia

      • I would second the suggestion of simple polls for large groups. Something else I have seen tried is typing your name or how you’re feeling today into the GIF searchbar and sharing the first GIF that appears.

    • The GIF idea is a lovely idea. Thanks for sharing Christina.

    • that’s a fab idea Cristina 🙂
