Biography
Culture Shift and Next Stage Organisations Facilitator / Consultant
Keen to introduce self-organising living systems and holistic thinking into health and care. This includes multi-disciplinary collaboration, as well as enabling people who do all the hard value-creating caring work (careworkers, nurses etc.) to grow and flourish, by creating the right conditions and safe environment. This requires a mind-set shift and a new spirit of learning and change.
While my background is not in health or care per se, I have a keen interest in it working well as a consumer, and I have many transferable skills which I think may benefit the field. This includes a strong background in lean thinking, learned on the shop-floor for many years in Japan, reducing waste, continuous improvement (Kaizen) and empowering the workers. As an Open Space facilitator I focus on enabling deep conversations between various stakeholder to unfold. I also specialise in decentralised collaborative decision-making.
Having lived and worked in 3 continents (Europe, America and Asia) and worked in a large variety of settings, I hope to be able to contribute with a different perspective on health and care. I believe the field needs to shift from a mechanical mindset to a more organic one, honouring the humanity and potential of carers, and bringing in a more holistic perspective to the whole system.
