I am a member of the Healthcare Design Group supervised by Professor John Clarkson and Dr James Ward. I completed my undergraduate degree at Stanford University in Palo Alto, where I studied efficiency and design at the engineering department and computer science department.
Before joining the EDC, I ran a small design consultancy company focused on creating surgical simulators and doctor/patient communication tools. One surgical animation with the goal of reducing patient anxiety and increase understanding of the biological recovery process reduced post-surgical narcotic use by 50%. Other products included interactive tools for surgeons to learn state-of-the-art procedural updates and telemedicine systems.
My research at Cambridge University focuses on risk management in the NHS. Since the SARS-CoV-2 outbreak, I have also been conducting basic science research on the fit and filtration efficiency of PPE.
