Emma has a background in social work. She returned to academia and obtained her PhD in Sociology at the University of Glasgow in 2004. Since then she has worked between research, policy and practice on the themes of person centred care and personal outcomes, and integrated working. She has an extensive record of producing high quality outputs for the public, practitioners and policy makers. She also has a strong record of academic publishing.
