Biography

Following BSc Hons degree and Masters Dawn started her career in the NHS in research management.  This led on to a role as Manager & Scientific Advisor of 2 local research ethics committees.

Since then Dawn has provided leadership around clinical audit in community services, the acute sector and mental health over a broad range of specialties.   This has included presenting nationally on: Linking clinical audit with risk and quality; Engaging health professionals with quality improvement; Delivering change as a result of clinical audit findings; Delivering an effective annual clinical audit programme;
Continually developing clinical audit; Balancing QA and QI, Quality Improvement and CQC ratings

In addition to clinical audit and research Dawn has experience of working in a number of leadership roles in:

Quality Improvement
Governance
Patient and Public Engagement
Dawn is a member of the South East Clinical Effectiveness Network (SECEN) and a former Chair of the North London Clinical Audit Network (NLCAN).

Dawn has a Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Audit and has recently completed the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Leadership programme leading to an NHS Leadership Academy Award in Senior Healthcare Leadership and a Masters in Healthcare Leadership.

Dawn is accredited as an associate member of NHS Improvement’s Quality Service Improvement and Redesign (QSIR) teaching faculty and works as part of a strategic group within Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust to teach the QSIR programme to staff in order develop quality and improvement  capability within the organisation.
