Biography

Claire is an Improvement Consultant in the Improvement Unit of the Midlands and Lancashire Commissioning Support Unit (MLCSU). She joined MLCSU in April 2022 and prior to this, she held positions as Clinical Audit Quality Lead and Governance Lead at Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital in Shropshire for five years. Prior to taking up a Governance Lead role at the hospital in 2017, Claire worked at the Glasgow Centre for Population Health for three years as a Public Health Researcher on an Arts and Humanities Research Council project entitled: Representing Communities: Developing the Creative Power of People to Improve Health and Wellbeing.

During her time at RJAH, Claire was involved in setting up the Orthopaedic Quality Improvement (incl. Clinical Audit) Network (OQICAN) in collaboration with the National Orthopaedic Alliance. OQICAN was founded to provide opportunities for learning, sharing, and collaboration between and across specialist orthopaedic centres and trusts for the purposes of improvement and it has a number of workstreams and activities devoted to this endeavour.
