Carol has over 26 years experience in the NHS in innovation, digital health, education and clinical care. She developed the first multi award winning skincare range for the NHS My Trusty and appeared on the BBC One Show to discuss innovation within healthcare. Carol was the first UK nurse to present her qualitative innovation research at Stanford MedX, USA and present on the Stanford University Research MOOC.
Carol was an NHSE clinical fellow for two years leading on key programmes for Horizons. Building on this work Carol has developed international crowd sourcing platforms and digital broadcasting for transformational change, notably with the People’s Transformathon Public Health Scotland, the Transformathon for NHSE and QWessex. She is currently knowledge broker for the NHSE SI Source4networks platform
As part of the first cohort of the NHS Digital Academy she has gone on to join the faculty at the University of Edinburgh to deliver the programme working on modules linked to innovation and design thinking. Applying these key areas and her research she has developed a coaching programme to help individuals use design thinking to achieve career change and work/life balance.
She holds a MSC in Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship, BSC Nursing, diplomas in management/coaching, Q fellow and Network leadership certificate 2016.
