Biography

Caroline Lacy has been leading the way through simulation based education in her role as a midwife for a number of years. She is an NLS instructor for the Resuscitation Council, has been faculty lead for Practical Obstetric Multi Professional Training (PROMPT), and has sought funding from Health Education England (HEE) to implement point of care micro simulation training. Caroline is passionate about patient safety and has applied her knowledge of human factors and ergonomics to enable clinicians to improve non-technical skills, teamwork, and psychological safety across South West England. It is through many years of observing simulation training and obstetric emergencies that led her to realise ERA Systems as a solutions to those human behaviours that cannot be improved through training.

Caroline was able to share her vision for a new era of emergency response with the NHS Clinical Entrepreneurs scheme which welcomed her onto the 2020 programme. Caroline is currently in the position of maternity matron at North Bristol NHS Trust and is hoping to share her passion for enhancing human behaviour and team performance by piloting ERA Systems at a number of NHS Trusts across the South West region.
