Biography
I work in the field of Quality & Safety in a large Acute Trust .
With my improvement team we have developed the Gloucestershire Safety & Quality Improvement Academy (GSQIA) , designed to build in-house capability for QI and safety management - This is about taking practitioners and helping them make real improvement - not just another training course! Our main focus this year is to develop embedded QI coaches in departments and change the Quality Monitoring (Clinical Governance) process to embrace improvement. I also run a Delivering Improvement Network, we meet 4 times as a year to share ideas on setting up effective programmes in organisations, to support and deliver QI activity - just contact me if you want to join.
My main formal networks are with the West of England Academic Health Science Network, Foundation Doctor QI, our own network through the academy and Q
I like to be practically involved in improvement projects, teaching and coaching and taking theory in to practice - making a difference in practice

To develop a simulation toolkit based on human factors principles that can be easily used to test ideas and potential solutions from QI projects or incident investigation recommendations before implementation.
