Biography

Adrian Parry-Jones is an NIHR Clinician Scientist at the University of Manchester and an Honorary Consultant Neurologist at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust. He trained in Medicine at the University of Manchester and undertook clinical training in the North West and London. He was awarded an MRC Clinical Research Training Fellowship to undertake his PhD studies investigating the role of brain temperature in interleukin-1 mediated ischaemic brain injury. He completed his training in Neurology and Stroke Medicine in the North West and in Melbourne, Australia and commenced his current NIHR Clinician Scientist Award in March 2015. His current research and clinical work is focused on improving outcomes after intracerebral haemorrhage, a devastating form of stroke with poor outcomes and few treatments. This has included work to improve delivery of standard care to this patient group by developing and implementing a hyperacute care bundle.
