Biography

I have spent the last 10 years working within Southampton's Integrated Commissioning Unit, a team that straddles Southampton City Council and Clinical Commissioning Group. During this time I have moved through various roles, gaining experience in the review, commissioning, and procurement of health and social care services across a range of client groups. Most recently I led the commissioning units market development efforts which focused on the delivery of strategic programmes to increase the use of appropriate housing, care technology and the delivery care and support to enable individuals to stay living in the community for longer.
Prior to this I studied physiotherapy at Brighton University.
In March 2017 I had a stroke which paralysed my left side, leading to a long hospital stay and lots of (ongoing) rehab. I was unsure whether to include it in here (I don't like it being 'a thing') but it has been quite an experience that has taught me a lot about the delivery of health services.
Outside of work I enjoy playing music, painting and cycling.
