After graduating from the University of Oxford, Adam started his career working in Cultural Services in Surrey, including supporting the development of community partnerships across the library network. Adam has spent most of his career working in the NHS in a number of different roles in acute hospitals (including volunteer management and development, communications and engagement, and as Head of Patient Experience and Partnership) and the Surrey Heartlands health and care system (with a focus on unpaid carers); he is currently a senior manager for NHS England and Improvement, working on system development and patient and public experience and engagement across the NHS in the South East. Working with people and communities has been at the heart of his career and remains a keen area of interest.
