When I joined the Q team early in 2022, most sessions were still taking place online, with just a handful of in-person gatherings dotted around the calendar. This summer, I’ve loved being able to get back to bigger in-person functions. Along with the rest of the Q team, at every one I’ve attended I’ve been looking for inspiration to weave into this year’s Q community event.
I’m delighted to announce that registration is now open for the community event 2022 and that we’ll be giving you, the Q community, the opportunity to meet in person, virtually, or both! Read on to find out more.
What can I expect from the Q community event 2022?
This year, we’re trying something a little different. On Tuesday 18 October, we’ll be hosting a virtual online session. The following week there will be two in-person events, one in Leeds (Tuesday 25 October) and one in Bristol (Thursday 27 October). As we’re testing this format, these will be slightly smaller in-person events than we’ve run previously.
Online and in-person ticket options
Each event type will be designed to make the most of the setting. The online session will be a mixture of workshops, keynotes and interactive panels, while the in-person events will be responsive content from the online session and will make the most of the opportunity to be in the same room.
We hope that by offering these two options, as many members as possible will be able to take part in the way that they feel most comfortable.
Exciting content related to Q’s themes
The sessions online and in-person will build on Q’s mission for the recovery period: to boost effective collaboration and improvement, for sustainable change that’s shaped and owned by those who deliver and receive care.
We’ll focus on our key themes:
- Bringing improvement and digital together for sustainable change
- Reducing waiting in ways that support broader transformation goals
- Enabling integrated improvement across sectors
Check out Q’s Managing Director, Penny Pereira’s blog post on our themes for more information about what they mean for Q’s work.
Opportunities to connect across the community
Collaboration is at the heart of everything we do at Q, and the community event is no exception! Look out for ways to connect with other members from across the UK and Ireland across each of the event types.
How do I get my free ticket?
More than ever before, it’s up to you how you get involved this year. You can choose to attend both online and in-person or just attend one. Wherever you are based across the UK and Ireland, you are welcome to book a ticket for either of the two in-person events.
Registration is now open for both ticket types (online only or online access with in-person at either of our Bristol and Leeds events), so secure your place now.
I can’t wait to share more exciting updates about speakers and the agenda for each event over the course of the summer.

Good afternoon,
I made an application to join the Q community two weeks ago and I'm awaiting a response, however, I'd be incredibly keen to attend this. Kindly let me know if there is an alternative means for securing a place at the event!

Hi Ashley, you should receive an email on your membership shortly, I have asked my colleague who looks after this to get in touch directly with you in the meantime.

Hi Ashley, your application is being assessed this week and we expect to have a decision for you by the end of next week - so in plenty of time to register for the event.

When I go to book, it only comes up with 18 October and online - no other options. I wonder if there is a glitch or am I missing something obvious? Many thanks

I'm having the same issue as others, keep trying to book the face to face event in Leeds but the system keeps going back to the on line event.

Hi Verity, Kate and Janet,
Thank you for flagging this, it seems to be causing a few people issues!
Firstly, there are two pages to complete your sign-up. On the first page, you need to put your email address in the box and then click 'register'. This will take you to the second page where you can select your preferred ticket type,
Once we've confirmed you're a Q member, you'll receive a confirmation email for the selected event, including a downloadable calendar invite. (We're having to do this step manually so this will take a day or so to arrive!)
Hope that helps! If you have any other issues, please contact us by email: q@health.org.uk.
Thanks, Jess

yes, having same issue as Verity, there is only one date showing (18th) and I would very much like to attend the in-person event in Leeds on the 25th.
Any help on booking that would be appreciated. Thank you

Hi, I selected the event on 27th October, but the calendar invitation I received is for 18th October. I don't seem to be able to rectify this. Can you help please?

Hi Janet - there have been several comments all morning as many of us are struggling to see any dates beyond the online one posted. I think it is a glitch and they have not picked up our comments yet! I am unsure who/how to contact someone directly.
