For those who were not able to join the call today, we discussed that:

Diversity does not appear to be part of much of PPI practice in healthcare particularly in acute settings.
Those who have the worst healthcare needs are least likely to be involved
There is much better practice on this in some areas such as social work and mental health
patient safety appears to be particularly out of keeping with models in other parts of healthcare
We need to talk about equality as well as about diverse involvement and deal with power inequities excluding groups and therefore what is empowerment
We felt that Trusts were not drawing enough on data that exists about the demographic naure of communities and there different healthcare needs
