Hello everyone, as a speech and language therapist I wanted to reach out to fellow AHPs to ask for your help and advice. I’d like to share with you our Q Exchange proposal, which I am delighted to say has been shortlisted for this year’s funding. It’s called One Big Front Door for Community Children’s Health and it’s all about bringing together children’s therapies and community paediatric medical services in a digitally enabled way so that families only have to request help for their children once, and so that our services are easier for families to access and navigate.

It would be fantastic if you would very kindly have a look at our proposal and suggest any ideas, improvements etc in the comments section. Obviously, when the voting opens on 17th May we would also love it if you liked our project and voted for it. But regardless of that your support in terms of collaborative ideas and comments would be great. The link to our project page is:

I look forward to hearing your ideas!!

    • It sounds like a great project, Clare, and a joined up approach is so important. Many children need input from multiple members of the MDT, and are initially not referred to everyone they need, or to the most appropriate person for an initial assessment..Which professions will be included? Will it include dietetics or psychology, for example?

      • HI Sarah, the project will initially focus on community paedatrics, speech and language therapy, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, podiatry and some specialist community nursing services (e.g. for looked after children or community children’s nursing services), however the potential for the scope of this service is much greater, as you have indicated. We do plan as part of the project to link with wider services, such as CAMHS, specialist health visiting and dietetics and epilepsy nursing, to support a more streamlined access to these services too.

Thank you, Sarah, for taking the time to read our project page. I do hope that you like the project, and are able to support it with your vote.
