    Hi all,

This is just a quick introduction – My name is Rachel and I am the Green Ward Programme Manager with the Centre for Sustainable Healthcare. I run a competition for healthcare teams, supporting them to design, implement and measure sustainable quality improvement projects. My background is in paediatric and neonatal Speech and Language Therapy.

I am relatively new to the Q community and brand new to this AHP forum. I’m looking forward to connecting and learning with you all.

    Rachel

    • Hi Rachel,

      Welcome to the group.

Maybe the AHPs SIG and the Sustainable Healthcare SIG could do a joint Zoom to hear about the Green Wards Programme…?

Olivia and the Sustainable Healthcare SIG might’ve done lots like this already though, I’ve not managed to keep up…

      Matthew
      (Q Community Manager)

PS My other half’s an SLT – is it possible to know too much about someone’s profession…?! 😉

      • Hi Matthew,

Thank you for the welcome! Perhaps your partner would be interested to join our Sustainable SLT Network? I can share the details if they are!

I don’t believe there has been an event about Green Ward in the past, this is something we could definitely consider! If there was a lot of interest from others in this group we could work together to arrange an event and bring previous competition team members to share their projects, outcomes and learning experiences.

For now, my colleague Siobhan Parslow-Williams has just posted on the sustainable healthcare network about a two-part Q exchange series on embedding sustainability into quality improvement (part one in healthcare education and part two in trusts). Details of the events will be shared very soon for anyone in this group who would be interested to attend.

        Best wishes,
        Rachel
