4 Network Weaver roles: a workshop format you can use to surface and discuss the roles in your own team

If you’d like to run a workshop with your own network team to see which of the Network Roles are strong and which need help and support, you can adapt the slides from a recent enjoyable internal Q workshop we did on this.

The slide-deck is here: https://q.health.org.uk/document/network-weaver-roles-team-workshop-slide-deck/ (you may want to add in your own introductory slides at the front – I chopped some out that were only relevant inside Q).

I’ve attached a screenshot to this post showing our strong roles (green dots) and the network roles where we most need help/support (red dots). The ‘Network Guardian’ and ‘Network Facilitator’ roles are clearly the ones needing the most training, support etc – with the ‘Self-Organised Project Co-ordinator and Coach’ the strongest. (When I looked into the quantitative data we had 40% more of the Project Co-ordinator skills than the Network Guardian skills).

The latest version of the Network Roles checklist survey itself – which you’d need to ask everyone to complete before or during the workshop – is here: https://q.health.org.uk/document/4-network-roles-checklist/

If you try this workshop with your own network, do please share back with us how it goes – and any good improvements you make.
