Hi Jane, the description of the SIG caught my attention. My professional background is nursing and mental health is my field. I’ve often been the instigator of innovation in the places I work. Currently I am working with Peer Coaches in primary care. I have a lot of conversations about people’s (health professionals, patients, council, commissioners etc etc) hopes and dreams and lots of ideas floating around related to healthier communities, people being connected, strength based approaches etc, that grab my attention, which is all very energising, but at the same I feel there is a joining up of some of the themes and a simplification that needs to happen for some bigger step change. Being involved in Peer Working development in Uganda gave me the experience of that drawing together of themes and a simplification of what was being created. I sense a potential for peer working to be a momentum creator for bigger changes in the way we do health. So, pretty keen at this time to just draw breath and see what people are talking about and how. I learn in dialogue so hoping for clarity through conversations in the SIG.
