    Hi everyone
    Thanks for a great event. However I have today learnt that participation payments for patients/carers has been withdrawn for this event. There was nothing in the emails to let us know that this would be the case. This is not only rude, it is bad practice. It signals a backward step for Q in terms of good practice in Coproduction. INVOLVE has guidelines about good practice which state:
    ‘At the outset, offer clear information for members of the public explaining what they are being offered, how they will be paid, how their involvement will be acknowledged’.

      Hi Mandy,

      Great to meet you in person yesterday and I’m glad you enjoyed the event!

      I’m sorry for any confusion but nothing has been withdrawn. Q is paying for expenses, including travel to and from Birmingham, for patients and carers. This has been communicated via email to delegates. The day rate payment for patients/carers would not apply on this occasion as that is given for advisory work, as per our policy.
