The Q community, NHS Confederation and the Health Foundation have partnered to support health and care systems to learn and improve.
The NHS is facing an unprecedented range of workforce, financial and operational pressures, and improvement is moving up the health and care agenda following the launch of NHS IMPACT, NHS England’s new single, shared improvement approach. The need to build improvement skills and scale improvement has never been greater.
Our partnership brings together the improvement expertise of the Health Foundation and the networks and relationships of NHS Confederation together with Q’s membership community of over 5,000 people collaborating to improve the safety and quality of care.
Announced at NHS ConfedExpo on 14 June 2023, the partnership is co-designing, co-delivering and building capacity alongside health and care systems at every stage, so they can learn and improve together.
What will the partnership offer?
- Peer learning programme (launched) aimed at supporting people leading improvement across health and care systems in the UK. We bring together participants to learn with and from each other, offering a range of tools and approaches to meet leadership needs and connecting them to local improvement ideas and expertise
- Practical resources, materials and connections to support implementation in practice
- Publications, podcasts and events to share learning and support implementation in practice.
- Insight and innovation projects on specific complex issues, testing and learning together
Together, through this programme of support we aim to work with systems to:
- Develop learning and improvement approaches needed to meet system goals
- Galvanise local improvement ideas and expertise, helping leaders connect from the board to the ‘frontline’ of delivering change
- Pool evidence and experience to understand and make progress on priority topics
- Share and scale what we’re learning together.
